What Broke
(On the CJ)
In September 2000, I bought an '86 CJ-7. And hey! It passed smog!!!
What it had when I bought it:
- 2.5" Rancho Lift with 2" shackle lift and 1" Daystar Body lift
- Detroit Locker in the rear factory Dana 44 Axle
- Warn Full Floater Kit in the rear axle
- 33x12.50x15 Dick Cepek Mud Country tires
- 15x8 Black Spoke Wheels
- Super Turbo high flow muffler
- Dana 30 Front axle with Lock Right Locker
- New Bestop Supertop
- 4.11 Gears
- Dana 300 xfer case
- T-5 manual transmission
- Cheap Uniden CB
- Pioneer CD Player
- Full 6-point roll cage
- Currie Twin-Stick conversion on xfer case
As you can see, it was already in pretty good shape when I got it. It was fully set up for the trail. It was not without it's problems, though.
