CJ-7 Rock Crawler

This Jeep was previously listed but did not sell, so I'm including more information for your enjoyment.

I bought this Jeep about a year and a half ago.  It was originally a brownish-burgundy color (see below).  It was well-built when I bought it, but I upgraded it to do more of the stuff I wanted to do (The Hammers, and such).  It is in pretty good shape, but as with all vehicles of this age, it's not perfect.  If it was, I'd be asking $15,000.  My reserve is set at a fair price for the Jeep.  No, I won't tell you what it is, so please don't ask.

I had the Jeep re-painted in July.  It runs 35" BFG Mud Terrains on 15x10 chrome spoke wheels.  It has a Dana 30 Front with Warn Heavy-Duty axles (with Dana 44 U-Joints) and a Lock-Right locker.  The rear is a Dana 44 With a 30-spline Warn Full-Floater kit and a Detroit full-carrier locker.  The axles are geared at 4.56.  It had a Dana 300 transfer case with a Currie Twin Stick conversion.  It originally came with a 5-speed transmission, but I swapped in a freshly re-built TF-999 Automatic with a 2.74 first gear.  The crawl ratio on this Jeep is a respectable 65.5:1. It ramps 925 on a 20 degree ramp at street pressure. The engine is the stock 4.2 (258).  It is California Smog legal.  It just passed emissions testing in December.  The registration is current through January 2003. It has a new plastic valve cover, new carburetor, and all new vacuum lines. The engine runs very strong.  It has a new Magna-Flow high-flow muffler and exhaust pipe.  It has a custom rear CV-style driveshaft. It also has an engine-driven York air compressor that will run air tools. It also has Sun Performance Rocker Guards.  These things are TOUGH.

What else?  Well, it also has the standard off-roading goodies, such as custom under-body rock lights, 7 inches of lift to clear those 35's, late-model Jeep Wrangler fender flares to open the wheel wells a bit (front flares available but not installed), and heavy-duty bumpers front and rear. It has a full 6-point roll-cage (never used).  For your listening enjoyment, it has a Pioneer CD player and Jensen 6x9 speakers. It also has a 40 Channel CB so you can communicate with your other Jeeping buddies. It is fully set up for flat-towing, and is trailer wired.  Just plug it in and go.

Now to the bad stuff. It is not a perfect Jeep.  This Jeep is set up for serious off-roading, and has been used that way. The paint has scratches, but shows well when cleaned up. It leaks oil from a bad rear main seal.  This was next on my to-do list, but will have to wait.  I do not have time for it right now. It also leaks a little bit of tranny fluid.  The rear seal needs to be replaced, but I don't have time to deal with that, either. The top is in good shape, but could probably use new windows. The drivers seat is torn, but it has BesTop seat covers that completely cover it up. The interior is very plain.  The carpet is out, but available if you want to have it cleaned and put back in. Everything works, except the pull-out slide for the heater/vent control.  I manually set it to "heat', and just never up the temp control.  I have never felt that it was a problem.  The steering column key lock broke.  I re-located the ignition to the dash, and it works fine.  The Jeep comes with "The Club" to replace the broken column lock.

It also comes with extras.  I have all of the parts I changed or took off as spares.  It has some spare axles, a spare tire carrier, 2 bikini tops, BesTop canvas half doors that match the top and seat covers, an extra stock spare tire carrier, a new drag link and a used tie-rod (read: bent and straightened).  I'll also throw in the Rancho 2.5" lift springs I took off.

That's about it.  Please feel free to contact me regarding the condition of this Jeep.  It is my baby, but my other baby is almost due, and it's time to get rid of one of my toys.
